Every 30 seconds, the NIC Configurator 2026 client initiates local network adapter queries to check policy compliance and sends that data to the server for processing through Compliance Monitor. The NIC Configurator 2026 client also collects point-in-time network adapter traffic flow statistics and sends this information to the server as well.

On the server, Compliance Monitor loads this data and displays it in either the COMPLIANT or NON-COMPLIANT section of Compliance Monitor. Traffic Flow Monitor loads its point-in-time network statistics data, displaying it in the proper network protocol section of its dialog.

While Compliance Monitor is running, every 9 minutes, it refreshes its COMPLIANT and NON-COMPLIANT displays with new data from clients. Traffic Flow Monitor auto refreshes its data every 60 seconds.

Every 1 minute Compliance Monitor goes through a background process to determine if any computer network adapter is in the non-connected state (down). If so, it immediately performs a refresh of the monitor, sends out notifications, and reduces the monitor refresh rate from 9 minutes to every 3 minutes until all network adapters in the NON-COMPLIANT section listed as being DOWN are remediated and cleared.

Right-clicking one or more selected computer/network adapters in Compliance Monitor will initiate a popup menu with a number of administrative functions that you could run against these items. These are processed by either Compliance Monitor or by the NIC Configurator 2026 client that resides on those computers where the network adapter sits.

Right-clicking selected items to have an administrative function performed on the computer/network adapter will perform the action against the highlighted items on the side of the dialog box where the cursor initiates the popup menu (either the Compliant or Non-Compliant sections).

Clicking a menu item on the top of the dialog box or clicking a push button, will perform the action against highlighted items on both the Compliant and Non-Compliant sections. An example would be to highlight all network adatpers in the Compliant and Non-Compliant sections and then click the Reports > Current NIC Performance Settings > MS Excel Report menu items to get a report of all network adapters.

PLEASE NOTE: This product is for Microsoft Windows enterprise environments where computers are part of an Active Directory forest/domain. NIC Configurator 2026 will only work on computers that are part of a Windows Active Directory domain.
